Linda Wohlrabe, MSW
Executive Director
Linda began working as Burt Children’s Center’s Interim Executive Director in 2005, and accepted the position of Executive Director in July of 2006. Linda has been working in the non-profit community in San Francisco since 1976. She received her MSW from San Francisco State University and then worked at a variety of jobs doing case management, program development and administration. She was an Executive Director at a residential drug and alcohol treatment program for adolescents, and at an agency serving victims of domestic violence. Before coming to Burt Children’s Center, Linda spent ten years working as a consultant and Interim Executive Director at a number of agencies throughout the Bay Area.
Joseph Filippone
Residential Director
Joseph has been with Burt Children’s Center for a number of years, beginning as a Child Care Counselor and eventually accepting the position of Residential Director. After spending his undergraduate years at Northeastern University, Joseph moved to the west coast to gain more experience prior to enrolling in graduate school. Joseph’s ultimate goal is to work with special needs students in an educational setting.
Diane Slap, LMFT
Clinician
Diane is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has been an integral part of Burt Children’s Center since 1994. Diane had the honor of being mentored by Mary Burt, and feels blessed to continue her work everyday at Burt Children’s Center. Diane loves witnessing the transformation of each individual child. She is a graduate of the University of San Francisco.
Sandra Hall, ACSW
Clinician
Sandra is an Associate Clinical Social Worker. Sandra began working with emotionally disturbed children in residential treatment in 2001. Her initial residential counseling experience inspired her to seek a graduate clinical degree in order to work with children and families as a therapist. Sandra also has a background in creative pursuits including independent film and writing endeavors. She is an alumna of U.C. Berkeley and the Smith College School for Social Work.
Murray Pender
Finance Director
Murray obtained his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Upon moving west, Murray received his MBA from the University of San Francisco. Murray arrived at Burt Children’s Center after working with a number of non-profits/businesses in the western portion of the United States as a business consultant.
Hanan Katz-Lewis
Administrative Services Director
Hanan returned to his hometown of San Francisco to begin his career in the non-profit sector after obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of California at Santa Cruz. He has been with Burt Children’s Center ever since. Beginning as the receptionist, he has since filled many roles before becoming the Administrative Services Director.
